Edward J. Kelty often traveled to circus lots to photograph groups of performers and staff. These photographs were sometimes used for the show’s press department, but were also sold by Kelty to the individuals in the shot. This photograph is part of a series taken in Bangor, Maine during the show’s stand on June 23, 1937. Arthur Concello, standing fifth from the left, is shown with the performers he trained to performer above the three rings of the Ringling circus. Beside Art is his first wife, Antoinette. Both Art and Antoinette are recognized as being among the greatest talents to perform on the flying trapeze.
