Patterns produced through curved, sinuous lines are constrained by the rhomboid form of these pendants. They produce their beauty not only through fine materials and skilled workmanship, but through pleasing organization, repetition and synthesis of the natural with the formal. Such patterns seem to combine two disparate design elements, the geometric and the organic. While the cultural symbolism may not always be readily evident, their beauty remains exquisite and accessible even to the uninitiated eye.
