Mamelok Press

BiographyThe Mamelok brand was born in Breslau, now known as Wroclaw, in Poland, in the first half of the 19th century. As one of the first commercial colour printing companies, Mamelok began to develop as a publisher by selling religious pictures (often known as oleographs) and embossed scrap reliefs.
The firm re-incorporated as a British company in 1940 and operated from London, before moving to the historic East Anglian town of Bury St Edmunds in 1968. In that same year, Mamelok Press acquired a German company, Heilbronn und Pinner (known as H&P Decorations), to enhance its paper engineering capabilities. Following severe financial difficulties during the latter half of the last decade, Mamelok Press went into liquidation in November 2009.

The brand has now been relaunched as Mamelok Papercraft with a new look and new management team, all of whom are passionate about retaining the brand's reputation for impeccable quality in this niche market using the latest production methods. Mamelok Papercraft is now based close to the university city of Cambridge, and every item within our product range is wholly manufactured in the UK using acid-free paper stock. Relevant products are manufactured to CEN European Toy Safety Standard EN 71.
