Functional Dehua wares were a popular commodity among European consumers. Objects such as censers and wine pots were often repurposed, and many pieces were equipped with metal fittings in Europe to suit local tastes. In other instances, Dehua kilns produced objects specifically with the European table in mind, such as porcelain fittings for forks and knives or mugs with handles.
