Started as book printers & publishers, became one of first sellers & makers of stereos in U. S.; issued views under this label only in 59 and early 60; afterwards either used N.Y. Stereoscopic Co. label or were outlet for them (relationship not clear). Sold many imported views. Issued some photomechanical reproduction views, source

not certain but prob. German. No relationship to Appleton Stereo Photo Co. of 1890s.
