Jacopo Palma, Il Vecchio

Best known as Jacopo Palma il Vecchio, to distinguish him from his grand nephew. Although little is known of his training or early career, after establishing himself in Venice he was a celebrated artist and he had many pupils. His birthdate is calculated on Vasari’s testimony that he died at age 48.
