Under the management of John Ringling North, industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes proposed unifying the circus aesthetic. From the first views of wagons and concession stands on the midway through to the ring curb in the big top, colors and patterns were used to brand the look of the show. Costume designer Miles White was tasked not only with dressing the stars in the ring, but also with clothing working men such as ticket takers.
