Patrick Cotter O’Brien (b.1760 – d. 1806), known as the Irish Giant, or the Bristol Giant stood 8’1 tall. Reports that he was the tallest man ever shown in Great Britain were not exaggerated; he was the first man ever to be verified to stand over eight feet tall.
