Continuing the long tradition of Czech glassmaking, Petr Hora is noted for using traditional techniques to create works that are wholly contemporary in feel. Juno II is representative of the period of his work which is characterized by a monochromatic period of his work which is characterized by a monochromatic palette and simple geometric shapes. Though not large scale, Hora is able to achieve monumentality through simplified forms reminiscent, perhaps, of the giant standing rock formations associated with ancient European civilizations.
