This violin was used in the Nelson's Great World Comedy Company, a comedic acrobatic act. Arthur Nelson formed the acrobatic act known as the Original Nelson Family, which included his wife, Sarah, six daughters and one son. They were known as the "The World's Greatest Acrobats" and starred in every big named circus including Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. Their performances, which included foot juggling, tumbling and backward somersaults, captivated audiences.
