Charly Baumann (1928-2001) was one of the outstanding animal trainers of the 20th century. In 1964, he and his tigers joined the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. His wife remarked that his success in training tigers to his patience, style and tone of voice; he was an example of "civilized behavior between man and beast."
