Provenancea three panel screen appears on page 46 of Georgian Court, an Estate of the Gilded Age, in a photograph of the library at Georgian Court, the Lakewood, NJ home of George Jay Gould. Completed in 1899, the estate was sold in 1924 to the Sisters of Mercy and converted to Georgian Court college. Most likely, a portion of the house's contents were sold at auction and John Ringling probaby purchased the screen at that sale.
