In 1938, John Ringling North contracted Frank Buck, the internationally recognized hunter, wild animal dealer, and performer to star in the Ringling show's opening spectacle, Nepal. The V-shaped design of the poster was to emphasize the enormous size of the extravagant costumed procession and the great number of participants, both human and animal.
